These Lying Times....The Themes of Government Education

by Carl G Loy
9/3/05

The Federal Curriculum mandatory in all government schools is about changing attitudes.
The subject matter is insignificant and intended to mislead. It is the 'theme' that is important for it is the method of indoctrination. These themes come from the Center for Civic Education, an entity given the responsibility for the formation of the new Federal Curriculum.

Very likely there are few parents who ever bother to read the textbooks, and if they did, would not discern what is really going on. Just skimming thru, one would think that the subject noted is what is covered, but this is not the case, exactly. If one desires to change and mold a child's thinking it is simple enough to just make impressions by what is omitted, and what is emphasized. As was noted in a previous writing, just omitting the 2nd Amendment means the child will never be aware of the right of firearms ownership. Then add to that a series of comments about how bad guns are in the hands of other than law enforcement and the military and the case is made. The controlled media does this also.
They rarely report the incidents of self defense where guns used, saved someone from harm, but they embellish reports of guns used wrongly. And why shouldn't they? They are controlled and by law must provide approving 'themes' of what is required in the Federal Curriculum. Did you know that an amount of time for and embedded in Saturday cartoons, must be geared to promote the themes of the Federal Curriculum?

The themes of the Federal Curriculum undermine national sovereignty. Global citizenship is taught as the modern way to achieve all that is good for all nations and nationalism is a thing out-dated and the cause of wars.

Natural rights are diminished. Extreme environmentalism is promoted; multiculturalism is required; a restructuring of government is shown as necessary; and education becomes a job skill. These are all 'themes' prevalent in the federal curriculum. It is about changing attitudes. It is the brainwashing and indoctrination of young impressionable minds.

The above is not new. Prior to 1994, textbooks were filled with the same thing, but after 1994, what did change was that states had no choice in the matter; they were forced to accept the texts included in the Federal Curriculum. Effective with Goals 2000 and School to Work, and the funded mandates under HR6, the state had no discretion about what texts would or would not be used. All this was presented to the states as voluntary, but the fine print in HR6 made all other funding contingent upon the state adopting the federal curriculum.

The themes of the federal curriculum are designed to eliminate 'rights' and make a child believe that the greater good of the group is far more important than that of just one individual. They are encouraged to look to government, world government, for the best future for all peoples. Humanist views prevale thruout. Anyone reminded of communism?

The government enforces the teaching of the federal curriculum. Tests are designed to gauge such. If children do not perform well on the NAEP, showing that they have given the politically correct answers, funding can be withheld from the state.

The National Standards for Civics and Government spells out what are the goals and what the curriculum entails. It becomes obvious just what these themes are, when you can see that it doesn't matter what is the subject, the same themes prevail in some way, although in some areas it is subtle. In social studies, it is easily seen. If you mention diversity 50 times, natural rights one time, 1st Amendment several times and 2nd Amendment 0 times, what do you think the 'theme' is?

How about Mother Earth? Gaia? Being one with the environment? Children are taught a specific New Age spirituality aligned with nature worship and some refer to it as a religion.
Teaching environmentalism is not the teaching of conservation and stewardship that I learned. Now what do you suppose is the theme here? It is not education; it is indoctrination. It is about changing attitudes and values, and accepting a different worldview.

Much of what is included in the federal curriculum and it's manner of enforcement comes directly from Marc Tucker and Hillary Clinton. Does that make you feel better? Well, they're smart; they knew how to get around the 10th Amendment. It appears that it was Marc Tucker who divised the approach of it being made voluntary but it was he who also said that states would never adopt it if it wasn't mandatory. Don't blame them too much; much progress was made laying the foundation for a soviet type educational curriculum under both Reagan and elder Bush.

According to Allen Quist, activist, researcher, author, (see www.EdWatch.org), the end goal is to restructure government. For his detailed in-depth analysis of the Federal Curriculum, read his book, "FedEd." It should be required reading of all parents, but the government will certainly not want parents to read it.

Some time ago, a teacher told me that this wasn't in her school. A school secretary in another school system said it wasn't in her school. Still another educator said it was unheard of. Well, that's impossible. It can't NOT be. Not if the school is receiving federal funds. It is presented innocently enough. It is subtle. It is misleading. It can sound good to some. But, it is there and it is not good; not for the future of a free and independent citizen of America. It is not good for anyone or anything except for the ruling elite who want total control, cradle to grave, and it will accomplish their objectives for that, if left intact.
