These Lying Times....Living Without Discernment in America (Part 6)

Living Without Discernment in America opens the doors to a variety of false perceptions. Besides our being easily persuaded to believe things that are not true, it allows into our lives many evil influences. Not all influences are evil in and of themselves, but some provide a stepping stone into a realm that is. For instance, I have mentioned Yoga in past writings. The act of stretching and exercising is certainly not by itself, evil. However, when adhered to as a regime of fitness based on this aspect of Hindu worship, we are opening a door that can allow evil in. The same Christian that may be repelled by paganism and the occult, but sees nothing wrong with Yoga is lacking in discernment. Practicing Yoga is no less than dabbling in paganism, the occult. It may look good, it may seem harmless, and it may feel good, but its' origin is pagan, therefore it cannot be pleasing to God. Refusing to consider the religious aspects of Yoga doesn't mean they aren't there. Meditation becomes the next step that door has opened. Yoga is a part of the New Age components in which exercise and meditation combine to relax the body and empty the mind, a state that allows evil to intrude. Perhaps we should consider, 'are we self-centered or God centered?
There are a lot of occult beliefs being popularized. They have in common, becoming like God, denying Jesus Christ as the Way. They appear as Channeling, Astral projection, Astrology, Meditation, and other forms including Yoga, and all are New Age. They are evidenced in Wicca and other type beliefs. On the surface, Wicca may seem fairly harmless, but it is the door to worship of the creation and other gods. Reincarnation is believed by many Christians, believe it or not. I know a wonderful little lady in her 70's, a retired school teacher, active in her Methodist church, who claims that Christ was a reincarnation of an early Prophet, and she believes she was a previous, and will be another. Reincarnation leaves no room for Jesus Christ and the cross, and there is no way to combine the two. In a poll in 2006, it was found that more than one fourth of Americans believed in reincarnation. Ouija boards, clairvoyants, hypnotists, are all doors to occult means of allowing evil in. God warns about all such things as demonic.
We are continually being conditioned by what we see and hear. Movies and television, news, commentaries, advertising, church; it's coming from everywhere. Our minds are being molded and our thoughts influenced in ways that might as well be called mind control. Take the idea that there are extra-terrestrial beings from other civilizations trying to communicate with earth, evidenced by UFO's, etc. This has been widely promoted in books and movies. It is alarming that so many Christians believe all this to be true. Yet, most of those same Christians claim to belief the Bible's rendering of Creation, as opposed to the claims of those who believe man's claims of Evolution. How they can reconcile God's Word with little green men from Mars landing somewhere on earth is beyond me. It is said that 95% of UFO sightings have been dismissed as something normal, or a fabrication, after investigation. We don't hear much about that. We just hear what they want us to hear. However, it is also said by some researchers that the other 5% are not physical and are not anything we can measure or relate to our known methods of determination. They don't communicate, regardless of the false reports, and they contradict all known science, so they are possibly in the supernatural realm. Perhaps, it is simply not for us to know. I don't think we are supposed to get caught up in it. If we need to know, God will see that we know, simple as that. Otherwise, we should beware. There are beings out there. They want to get inside us. They can only do so thru deceit, and if we open that door to them. Unfortunately, too many Christians are opening too many doors, unprepared for what is on the other side. We are told in Scripture that we need to think right. The only supernatural we need to think about is what comes from God. Without discernment, we may find that what we think comes from God, in fact, comes from Satan. Deceit is more rampant than we may think. Deceit is all that abounds in the world at large, a good reason to live as separately from it, as is possible.
Christians love to believe in Angels. Angels do exist. According to my studies, God's angels only act upon God's orders and they worship God, but they do not speak for God. Demons may appear as angels and claim to speak for God. If you dabble in the occult and open the door for them, you may well see them, hear them, and thing they are sent from God. Just remember, God performs miracles and answers prayers, not angels. God allows nothing to take away from Him, not even His own angels, and they wouldn't want to do so. We are to seek God, never angels. God sent angels with messages in the days of the Old Testament, but they never healed, they never performed miracles, they never took credit for what God did. Angels are important. God used them. They appear over and over in His Word as His Messenger. No power was ever given that we may call upon angels for anything. Only God names an angel and no man becomes an angel. And guess what, angels lie. What? Was not Lucifer / Satan an Angel? Did not one third of the angels follow Lucifer / Satan out of the presence of God? We know them as fallen angels, but they are demons who can appear as angels and they do lie. Keep your focus on God only.
Forget ghosts, forget dreams, forget near death experiences. Don't listen to voices and don't mess with anything that has to do with communicating with the dead. Don't plan your day by the stars. The world will do as it will. Don't be a part of it. Jesus Christ is the only supernatural being we should recognize and His Kingdom is not of this world, but we are on His time schedule. If we seek, we will know what He wants us to know when He wants us to know it. It won't come in any crystal ball or palm reading, nor will it appear in some apparition.
The Bible says to make every thought obedient to Christ. Pray for discernment.
