These Lying Times....The Greatest Decision Ever Made

These Lying Times....The Greatest Decision Ever Made

Great decisions are often little more than perceptions thus seen. Decisions having a profound affect upon a nation, even upon the world, have often been for evil purposes, although many have seen them as otherwise. Man has often viewed great decisions as being what made great men, great statesman, great generals, great presidents, etc. Yet, what seemed great when made and what history recorded to thus enhance that perception, such greatness has often been found lacking, when one researches all the mitigating factors, the ulterior motives, the ideology, the spin, the morality, the adverse affects, the evil made to appear good.

Lucifer, God's most special and powerful angel, made a terrible decision. We are told that he had been given power unequaled by other angels. He was extremely intelligent. He was unequaled in beauty. He was given control of the air. He was the greatest musician. Lucifer had great influence over all the other angels due to the powers and position granted him by God. In fact, Lucifer was God's favorite. All this went to his head. He became prideful and self-centered, and he wanted to be God, not serve God. And he made a terrible decision. He deceived other angels with his power and oratory, convincing them that he could equal God as the Most High. He conspired to take control of the Heavens in a rebellion against His Master. That decision resulted in his being thrown from the presence of God along with one third of the angels, those who had been deceived by him. Lucifer and his demonic angels did not lose their powers in the process and that is what so many Christians seem to ignore, or are not taught in their churches. Lucifer, the fallen angel, the "brightest star", aka, Satan, God's adversary, that Devil, the Liar, continues to wield his powers over the earth, deceiving and leading people away from God. He is devious and powerful and no one on earth is a match for him. The greatest of men cannot outwit Lucifer / Satan, that sly old Devil. Man cannot do battle Satan and win. Only God / Jesus Christ can overcome Satan and He Has, and therein lies the hope of all who follow Him.

Prior to the Crucifixion, Satan approached Jesus Christ and offered him all the kingdoms of the earth, if He would just bow and worship him. He offered Jesus the Christ all the earth, a temptation few would have been able to reject. In Scripture that relates this meeting between Satan and Jesus, we can discern that Satan did have rulership over the earth, that he owned the kingdoms and this means governments. This alone tells us that Satan had great power; that Satan appointed governments, not God, for God only appoints righteous government; that Satan knew that Jesus knew all this. Here was an opportunity to bypass the coming death on the cross. Simply by accepting Satan's offer, Jesus could switch Masters from His Heavenly Father who would allow Him to die a terrible death, to one, Satan, who would save him from death and give him all that lay before Him in the world. Jesus Christ was faced with a decision.

Satan has offered wealth and success and power to countless individuals in much the same way he tempted Jesus Christ. Many have sold their souls to Satan, as a result of the decisions they made. Many have done so, knowing the consequences, but could not turn down the appeal of the immediate benefits. Others have been deceived to think that Lucifer is actually the "Light" and the god that will grant them their desires both here and in the hereafter. It is the latter that has been most useful to Satan for they are the most deceived and the most influential on others. We have seen the tremendous influence of music on our culture, the impact of which has destroyed many lives and souls. Jimmie Page and Led Zeppelin, the Rollin' Stones, and others became servants of Satan, using their music and drugs to lead youth away from the true God. Most rock and roll stars made a decision at some point in their life to trade their souls for fame and fortune and became servants of Satan. Many of them think Lucifer is actually God. It seems useful to remember that Lucifer was the most prolific and talented musician in Heaven before he was thrown out. He was the Heavenly Piper, at one time entertaining the angels and worshiping God with his heavenly music. Today, he seeks to take people away from God with his chaotic music and lyrics. The same temptations of fame and fortune and power have been offered to others and can be seen in the governments of the world, in Hollywood, in our schools, in business, even in churches. Satan's decision to overthrow God has had a profound affect on all peoples of the world as he uses those same talents and powers to destroy God's Image, God's Creation.

The Greatest Decision ever made was the decision of Jesus Christ not to accept Satan's offer, thereby insuring God's Plan of Salvation thru the sacrificial Blood of Jesus Christ on the cross and His Resurrection. That decision defeated Lucifer once and for all. However, that does not mean that Satan is kept restrained from creating havoc on earth, nor is his control of worldly kingdoms hindered. His temptations continue as he seeks to destroy evidence of, and worship of, God on earth. Jesus has said that His Kingdom is not of this world. Therefore, man has no business trying to establish one for Him here. This world belongs to Satan.

The greatest decision ever made in all earthly times guaranteed man a way out of Satan's world and its' eternal condemnation and punishment. Jesus Christ made that decision with the ultimate sacrifice facing Him. He made it for His Chosen People, a people of all races, a people He Foreknew whose own decision chose life after death as He so Persuaded them to do with the Holy Spirit. Because of the Greatest Decision ever made, we can have His Protection from the temptations of Satan and in the name of Jesus Christ we too have defeated Satan. That is the spiritual power given those who Focus on Jesus Christ, a result of the Greatest Decision ever made.
